I have always had a love for cooking and serving others a passion that began in the kitchen with my grandmother, Sadie Vann Alford. She showed me that food is more than just nourishment; it’s a way to show love, bring people together, and create lasting memories.
Over the years, I discovered that cooking is not only my creative outlet, but also my calling. Through Pickles and Honey Soulful Kitchen, I’ve found a way to turn that love into something meaningful for others crafting soulful, flavorful meals that spark laughter, connection, and community.
Every dish we prepare is made with intention and heart. Whether it’s a family celebration, a corporate gathering, or a community event, our goal is to serve food that feels like home while creating spaces where people feel seen, valued, and fed in more ways than one.
At Pickles and Honey Soulful Kitchen, we don’t just cater events, we help bring people together, one soulful bite at a time. This is my way of serving, spreading love, and pouring joy into the lives of others from my kitchen to your table.

When I step into the kitchen, I’m not just thinking about ingredients, I’m thinking about people. I think about the warmth of family gatherings, the joy of shared laughter, the quiet moments around a table that turn into cherished memories. For me, cooking is so much more than preparing a meal — it’s my way of serving, loving, and connecting.
My approach to cooking is deeply rooted in tradition, heart, and purpose. I grew up watching my grandmother, Sadie Van Alford, cook with grace, strength, and so much love. She didn’t need fancy tools or trendy recipes — just fresh ingredients, soulful flavor, and a desire to take care of those she loved. That’s where this all began.
At Pickles and Honey Soulful Kitchen, I carry that same spirit into every dish I make. I believe food should tell a story. One that honors our roots, celebrates culture, and invites everyone to the table — no matter who you are or where you come from.
My style blends Southern comfort food with creativity and intention. I focus on flavor and freshness, always adding a personal touch to create something that feels both familiar and special. From buttery cornbread and slow-roasted meats to vibrant sides and homemade sauces — every detail matters.
But above all, I cook with love. Because when food is made with love, it nourishes more than just the body — it feeds the soul. Whether I’m catering a wedding, a community gathering, or a small family event, my goal is the same: to bring people together around food that feels like home.
This is my ministry. My creative outlet. My love language.
And I’m so grateful to share it with you.
– With love,
